Arsenal beat Aston villa to reclaim EPL top spot

Arsenal Football Club came from a one goal behind to beat Aston Villa 4-2 to reclaim English Premier League (EPL) top spot on Saturday at Villa Park.

Hosts, Villa got on goal early five minutes after the kick off to find the back of the net courtesy, Ollie Watkins.

Arsenal knowing what is at stake after a 3-1 defeat from Manchester City on Wednesday finally had a cause to celebrate after Bukayo Saka’s half-volley went straight through the crowd, over Martinez’s outstretched hand and into the roof of the net to equalise.

Villa retaliated with a Phillippe Coutinho’s deflected shot sending the ball into the near bottom of the net to make it 2-1 before the break.

After 15 minutes of action in the second 45 Oleksandr Zinchenko leveled for Arsenal to make it 2-2.

Arsenal’s third goal came as a bonus after Villa’s Martinez scored an own goal putting the Gunner in the lead.

The victory was sealed for Arsenal in the seventh minute of the added time as Gabriel Martinelli finished the day’s job for Mikel Arteta which ended 4-2 for the Gunners.

Arsenal are now back at the top of the EPL with 54 points, a 3-point gap from City who are 51.
