Lai Mohammed assumes new role as Managing Partner at Ballard Partners, expanding firm’s presence in Africa

Former Nigerian Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has taken on a new role as the Managing Partner of Ballard Partners, an international lobbying firm.

Ballard Partners, a renowned government relations firm based in the United States, recently announced its expansion into Africa with the opening of its first office in Abuja, Nigeria.

Mohammed will serve as the Managing Partner for the Abuja office, overseeing the firm’s satellite office in Lagos as well, Nigeria’s financial centre.

This appointment follows the dissolution of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet and has been confirmed by Ballard Partners in a statement released on their official Twitter page.

The statement highlighted Mohammed’s esteemed status in Nigeria and emphasized his extensive experience in public service.

Brian Ballard, the President and Founder of Ballard Partners, expressed his appreciation for Mohammed joining the firm and praised his outstanding reputation and exceptional experience.

He noted that the opening of an office in Nigeria expands the firm’s international presence to three continents and further enhances their work on behalf of African nations and companies.

Mohammed has a long history of service in Nigeria and has been a prominent figure in the country’s political landscape.

He held the position of Minister of Information and Culture for eight years, serving as the spokesperson, reputation manager, and information management strategist for the nation.

In response to his appointment, Mohammed expressed his delight at joining Ballard Partners and opening their first office in Africa.

He commended the firm’s international reputation and success in representing African countries and American firms on the continent.
