Police to prosecute individuals using emergency numbers to obtain loans
In a strong warning to Nigerians, the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Haruna G. Garba, urged individuals to refrain from misusing the command’s emergency numbers for personal gains such as obtaining loans from online loan companies. The cautionary statement was released on Friday, July 28.
CP Haruna highlighted that not only individuals, but non-state actors have also been utilizing the emergency lines for their own purposes. Expressing his concern, he emphasized that the emergency lines should only be used for their intended purpose. Moreover, deliberate actions will be taken to apprehend and prosecute those responsible for these illicit activities.
It is crucial for everyone to understand the grave consequences of misusing emergency numbers and to show respect for the proper utilization of these resources.
