The inspector, whose name has not been disclosed, was one of the officers assaulted at Ijora Olopa by the attackers on Thursday.

Tragically, the officer breathed his last at an undisclosed hospital on Friday. He had been rushed there on Thursday following the assault.

Hundeyin explained that the officers were in the area to enforce the Okada restriction law imposed by the Lagos State government when the assailants launched the attack.

As of Friday evening, no arrests had been made.
