Gov. Buni tasks newly appointed commissioners to abide by oath of office

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has enjoined the newly sworn-in commissioners in the state to handle all official matters according to the oath of allegiance and oath of secrecy they swore to protect.
Governor Buni made the call on Saturday shortly after the swearing-in of the newly appointed commissioners at the banquet hall, Government House Damaturu.
Governor Buni said the commissioners were carefully selected to serve in the present administration for the second and final tenure.

He, therefore, urged them to be leading figures in loyalty, diligence, good governance, sacrifice and productive leadership and should shun disloyalty, indolence, selfishness, laziness, and unproductiveness.
“As we progress into our second and final term of office, we are very much committed to achieving our set targets and meeting the aspirations of our people with minimum cost.This is a task that must be achieved for posterity to judge us positively.
“You should be reminded that as members of the State Executive Council, you are privileged to handle classified documents and information that requires absolute confidentiality.
“You should, therefore, handle all official matters according to the oath of allegiance and oath of secrecy you have already sworn to protect,” Buni stated.
The Governor adadvised the commissioners to be prudent and transparent in executing projects and programmes placed under their trust.
The sworn-in commissioners are Alh. Aji Yerima Bularafa, Ministry of Wealth Creation; Ali Mustapha Goniri, Ministry of Agriculture; Ya’Jalo Badama, Ministry of Women Affairs; Hon. Musa Mustapha, Ministry of Transport and Energy; Ahmed Buba Abba Kyari, Ministry of Housing; Engr. Usman Ahmed, Ministry of Water Resources; Mohammed Abatcha Gaidam, Ministry of Finance, and Kaigama Umar Yunusari, Ministry of Commerce.
Others are Alh. Ibrahim Adamu Jajere, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; Yusuf Umar potiskum, Ministry of Religion Affairs; Barr. Saleh Samanja, Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice; Prof. Mohammed Bello Kawuwa, Ministry of Higher Education; Engr. Umar Wakil Dudaye, Ministry of works; Hon. Abdullahi Bego, Ministry of Home Affairs Information and Culture, and Dr. Mairo Amshi, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster management.
Also sworn-in are Hon. Mohammed Gagiyo, Ministry of Budget and Planning; Dr. Mohammed Lawan Gana, Ministry of Health; Sidi Yakubu Karasuwa, Ministry of Environment; Dr. Mohammed Sani Idriss, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, and Barma Shettima, Ministry of Youth and Sports respectively.
