Reports suggest that the attack was carried out by a man identified as Olumide Awolumate, who serves as a ward chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Allegations surrounding the incident revolve around claims that government officials conducted the distribution in secrecy.
A video circulating on social media captures the moment Olumide used a blue chair to assault the Commissioner, resulting in her sustaining injuries. She was promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention.
It is worth noting that the State Government had initiated the distribution of these palliatives to all 18 Local Government Areas just a few days ago.
