Nigeria Police Force opens online portal for constable recruitment

The Police Recruitment Board has announced that its online portal for the recruitment of constables into the Nigeria Police Force will be open for applications starting on October 15th.

In a statement released on Friday in Abuja, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, informed that the online application portal would be available for a period of six weeks, starting from October 15th.

Prospective applicants will be required to complete the online application forms and submit them within the specified time frame through the website www.apply.policerecruitment.gov.ng.

According to Adejobi, applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and possess the National Identification Number (NIN). They should also have a minimum of five credits in no more than two sittings in WAEC/NECO or its equivalent, with credit passes in English and Mathematics.

He further added that applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 25 for general duty, and between 18 and 28 for specialist positions. Additionally, they must meet the medical, physical, and psychological requirements, and have a minimum height of 1.67m for males and 1.64m for females, with an expanded chest measurement of at least 34 inches for males.

Adejobi emphasized that applicants must not have any financial embarrassments or criminal convictions.

The available specialized fields for applicants include Medical Assistant, Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEW), Veterinary Assistant with a relevant certificate in Animal Health/Livestock, and Band Section. Other fields include Communications/Info-Tech Specialist, Drivers/Mechanics, Marine, Plumbers, Masons, Painters, Tilers, Electricians, Welders, and Carpenters.

The acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Olukayode Egbetokun, has urged applicants to exercise vigilance and caution throughout the application process. He also warned against the activities of fraudsters and individuals who may try to exploit the recruitment process for personal gains.
