Maina died during a gun duel with suspected terrorists near Benishiek in Borno State.
The governor prayed for the repose of the soul of the gallant policeman in Aljannatur Firdaus.
He also prayed for the quick recovery of those who sustained injuries.

Neptune Prime reports that Boko Haram terrorists who targeted the security convoy of Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni returning to Damaturu from Maiduguri shot and killed late Maina during the attack and injured many other security personnel.
Governor Buni directed the management of the Specialist Hospital Damaturu to provide full medical services to the injured security personnel.
The governor also directed the secretary to the state government to forward to his office a support measure for the family of the deceased policeman.
