The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ahmad Wakil, officially confirmed the apprehension in a statement released on Wednesday in Bauchi.
According to Wakil, the suspect was taken into custody on Monday after fatally stabbing the girl with a knife.
He further revealed that during the incident, the assailant also attacked another person who attempted to rescue the victim.
The tragic incident unfolded amid a heated argument when the deceased demanded a payment of N5,000 for services rendered in a previous encounter.
Wakil explained, “It led to a physical confrontation where the victim sustained serious injuries, resulting in her death.”

The arrest transpired following a distress call from a concerned citizen. The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. in a hotel room at Happiness Garden in Bayan Gari.
The suspect, in a fit of rage, stabbed his girlfriend, Emmanuella Ande, in the upper chest area. As the victim screamed, onlookers rushed to her aid, prompting the suspect to stab Zaharaddeen Adamu on his left hand when they forcefully opened the door.
Wakil disclosed that the police intervened to prevent the suspect from facing mob action and promptly referred the victims to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi. Sadly, Emmanuella Ande was pronounced dead by a medical professional, and her body has been deposited at the morgue.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect and the deceased had initially connected on the Facebook platform earlier in the year.
The suspect, in an alarming turn of events, reportedly withdrew N400,000 from his father’s bank account to fund his time with the girlfriend. A knife was recovered at the crime scene, and the suspect is expected to face charges in court upon the completion of the investigation.
