Jealous ex-boyfriend blinds varsity student’s eye for seeing another man
Hajiya Fatima, mother of 25-year-old 400-level student of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU) Lapai, Hussena Sani, is seeking justice for her daughter, who was brutally attacked by her ex-boyfriend, Mohammed Abba Yahaya, after he allegedly saw her with another man.
The sad woman said her daughter was supposed to return to IBBU Lapai to continue her studies but is hospitalised because of the actions of Yahaya.
She lamented that her daughter would bear a permanent scar from the attack that destroyed her eye.
Narrating her ordeal, Hussena Sani recounted that the incident occurred on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at around 9: PM.

She said she was escorting a visitor in a car to the main road when her ex-boyfriend approached her.
He questioned her about the car and when she dismissed his enquiries, he struck her on the forehead and delivered a heavy blow to her eye, causing her to fall and bleed profusely.
Hussena further explained that Mohammed Abba Yahaya, after realising her pain, stole her iPhone and fled. As she managed to walk toward his house to report the incident to his parents, he attacked her again, hitting her other eye.
When she cried out, asking if he intended to kill her, he responded that she was lucky he didn’t have a knife, or he would have stabbed her.
Hussena was later taken to IBB Specialist Hospital and then referred to the eye specialists at Minna General Hospital.
She is currently responding to treatment but has lost sight in one eye.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Abba Yahaya has been arrested and is in police custody.
