Tinubu supports Pinnick’s re-election to FIFA Council
President Bola Tinubu has expressed support for Mr. Amaju Pinnick’s re-electioni nto the Council of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
Mr Pinnick, a two-term president of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), is seeking re-election into the Council.
Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, said in a statement that Tinubu is solidly behind Pinnick retaining his seat in the council.

The FIFA Council is the principal decision-making organ of the organisation in the intervals of the FIFA Congress.
The Council comprises 37 members elected by the FIFA Congress for a renewable term of four years.
It will be recalled that Amaju Pinnick was elected into the Council in March 2021 – the third Nigerian after the late Oyo Orok Oyo and Dr. Amos Adamu.
