Tinubu appoints new heads for NHSA, NLTF, NDE
President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of new heads for three key national agencies.
The appointments were disclosed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement on Saturday.
Appointments:
1. Umar Mohammed – Director-General of the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NHSA)
– Background: An architect and expert in construction technology and environment.
– Expectation: “The President expects improved outcomes in the agency’s objective of operating and maintaining hydrological stations nationwide, as well as carrying out groundwater exploration and monitoring using various scientific techniques in order to provide hydrological and hydrogeological data needed for planning, design, execution, and management of water resources and allied projects.”

2. Silas Agara – Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE)
– Background: An entrepreneur and sports administrator who previously served as the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State.
– Predecessor: Nuhu Fikpo, appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in May 2021.
3. Tosin Adeyanju – Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF)
– Background: An accomplished administrator and good governance advocate.
– Predecessor: Bello Maigari, reappointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in March 2023.
The National Lottery Trust Fund was established under section 35 of the National Lottery Act 2005 by the Federal Government of Nigeria to facilitate national development.
