COWA President leads initiative to aid hundreds of Abuja women (Pictures)
In a remarkable display of solidarity and compassion, Mrs. Kikelomo Adewale Adeniyi, the wife of the Comptroller-General of Customs and National President of the Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA), orchestrated a significant effort aimed at easing the burdens faced by Customs Officers’ Wives residing in Karu Customs Barracks, Abuja, on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
Upon her arrival at the venue, President Kikelomo addressed the officers’ wives with warmth and determination, urging them to unite by becoming registered members of COWA. Emphasizing the association’s commitment to inclusivity, she declared, “Every officer’s wife has a rightful place within the COWA family.”
As part of COWA’s efforts to improve the lives of its members nationwide, food items such as noodles, bags of rice, spaghetti, and cooking oil were distributed to the officers’ wives. President Kikelomo, along with executive members of the association, led the distribution exercise, which also involved leaders from various barracks.
“This is not the first time COWA has conducted such an initiative,” remarked the National President, highlighting the association’s ongoing commitment to supporting its members, especially during the Ramadan season.
Encouraging officers’ wives to register with COWA, President Kikelomo emphasized the importance of proper data management to ensure continued support. She also urged members to extend the gesture of love and support to others within the association.

The distribution of palliatives is part of a larger effort taking place across various Customs formations nationwide, spearheaded by leaders of different COWA branches.
Earlier, during the grand launch of the Association on February 15, 2024, Mrs. Kikelomo Adeniyi had pledged to empower over 1,200 women to achieve self-reliance.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the timely assistance, noting the challenges facing Nigeria.
