19 die in tragic auto crash on Okene-Lokoja highway
A devastating auto crash on the Okene-Lokoja highway in Kogi State has claimed the lives of nineteen individuals, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
FRSC’s corps education officer, Jonas Agwu, disclosed in a statement on Sunday that emergency rescue teams endured over three hours of inferno to rescue victims at the scene of the fatal crash.
The accident, involving a truck and a Toyota Hiace bus from Kano State, resulted in a collision that sparked a fire inferno, leading to the tragic demise of the victims.

Out of the twenty-two individuals involved, nineteen lost their lives, while one sustained injuries. FRSC operatives successfully rescued two others unhurt.
The deceased victims have been taken to Okene General Hospital, as investigations into the incident continue.
This heartbreaking incident adds to the growing concern over road safety and the need for stringent measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
