Israeli strike claims lives of 3 civilians in Southern Lebanon
A tragic Israeli strike on a village in southern Lebanon resulted in the deaths of a couple and their child, as reported by a local official. The incident marks the latest deadly occurrence in the border region, amidst heightened tensions between Israel and Lebanon’s Iran-backed Hezbollah group.
The strike comes amid intensified fighting in recent weeks, with Israel launching deeper incursions into Lebanese territory, while Hezbollah has escalated its missile and drone attacks on military positions in northern Israel.
According to Abdelmoneim Chukair, the municipality chief of Mays al-Jabal, “The dad, the mother, and their little son were martyred” in the strike. Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency confirmed that the strike killed “three civilians” and wounded several others.

Hezbollah retaliated on Saturday evening by firing on military positions in northern Israel. The Lebanese movement has reiterated its stance that only a ceasefire in Gaza will halt its attacks on Israel.
The latest escalation in violence coincides with ongoing efforts by a Hamas delegation to negotiate a potential truce deal in the Gaza war. Diplomatic efforts by the United States and France have also been made to ease tensions along the Lebanese-Israeli border.
The prolonged conflict has taken a heavy toll on both sides, with at least 389 people killed in nearly seven months of cross-border violence in Lebanon, including militants and over 70 civilians. Israel has reported the deaths of 11 soldiers and nine civilians on its side of the border, with tens of thousands displaced on both sides.
