Stepmom in Adamawa sets 3yr-old, 7yr-old stepchildren’s hands on fire
A 23-year-old stepmother, Rachel Geoffrey, has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for intentionally setting the hands of her two stepchildren, Genesis Geoffrey, 7, and Idadai, 3, on fire.
The incident occurred on May 14, 2024, at Federal Housing Estate, Girei Local Government Area.
According to the Command Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the stepmother inflicted severe physical injuries on the children after they ate their father’s food, which she had cooked and kept for him. In a fit of anger, she tied their hands with a handkerchief and set them on fire, resulting in severe injuries.
