Jealous husband kills wife, 2 children on suspicion of adultery
A heart-wrenching tragedy unfolded in Owegie Community, Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State when a 35-year-old man, Mr. Uwaila Idehen, tragically killed his 28-year-old wife, Maureen Idahen, along with their two young sons, Derick (3) and Desmond Idehen (2) over jealousy.
The motive behind this abhorrent act was reportedly rooted in accusations of infidelity levied against the wife.
During the interrogation led by the Police Commissioner in Edo, CP Hakeem Olusegun Odumosun, the suspect, Idehen, confessed to the heinous crime.
Idehen revealed that longstanding disputes regarding fidelity had plagued their relationship, with a recent escalation when his wife allegedly threatened to seek relationships outside the marriage if he did not cease his suspected unfaithfulness.

Overwhelmed with rage following his wife’s threats and insults upon his return home, Idehen, in a torrent of emotions, discharged a shot from his English-made double-barrel gun through the door, inadvertently taking the lives of his wife and their two innocent children who were in the same room.
Thankfully, their five-year-old daughter, Precious, managed to escape unharmed.
Expressing deep remorse for his actions, Idehen said, “I am feeling bad for killing my family members.”
In response to this horrific incident, CP Odumosun condemned the suspect’s abhorrent actions, ensuring that justice would be served. Emphasising that a thorough investigation would be conducted.
He assured that the suspect will face legal repercussions and be charged to court.
