Troops capture infamous gun runner, rescue hostages in Kaduna, Sokoto

Troops of the Nigerian Army have apprehended a notorious gun runner, Hashimu Ahmad, during transit in Kaduna and successfully rescued kidnapped victims in Sokoto.

Ahmad, on the wanted list for supplying arms to terrorists, was intercepted in Saminaka, Lere Local Government Area, with high-caliber weapons, including a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) Launcher, and 1,069 rounds of ammunition.

In Sokoto, troops rescued hostages abducted from Matalawa village, engaging kidnappers in a gun duel. Additionally, in Delta State, troops intercepted a truck carrying 15,000 liters of illegally refined Automated Gas Oil (AGO).
