54-year-old man commits suicide in Lagos due to hardship

In the Lagos state neighborhood of Agege, a man committed suicide.

The man, 54-year-old Olatunji, is claimed to have ended it all at around 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2024, according to reports.

The deceased guy took his own life at a store in their home, according to his elder sister, who also reported the event to the police station, according to state command spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin.

According to the PPRO, “a complainant reported at the Elere Division stating that her younger brother, one Olatunji, a male, aged 54, committed suicide by hanging himself to death in the store of their house,” at 8 p.m. on the same day. T

he victim was lowered and transferred to the Orile Agege General Hospital, where he was declared dead, after division officers arrived on the scene right away.

According to extensive examinations, there were no signs of violence on the deceased, said Hundeyin. The body has been moved to the Mainland Hospital Mortuary in Yaba so that an autopsy may be performed, he further stated.

In similar news, a guy attempted suicide on a Lagos bridge before being saved by kind people. In a video circulating on the internet, the man was seen trying to leap off the bridge when onlookers grabbed him and saved him.
