Leader hails ‘Brilliant Work’ of Iran’s armed forces in striking Israel
The leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, praised the “brilliant work of our armed forces” in launching a missile strike on the Tel Aviv area.
During his public sermon at the Imam Khomeini Grand Mosalla mosque in central Tehran, the leader stated that the strike was “completely legal and legitimate.”
Ayatollah Khamenei addressed a massive gathering at the weekly Friday prayer, emphasizing that the missile strike was a just response to the crimes committed by the “usurping Zionist regime,” calling Israel “the rabid dog of America.”
“The actions of our armed forces were the least punishment for the crimes of this wolf-like regime. Whatever duty the Islamic Republic has in this regard, it will be fulfilled with strength and fortitude. We will neither delay nor hasten in carrying out this task,” Ayatollah Khamenei stated.
The leader also highlighted that future actions will be guided by the decisions of Iran’s political and military leadership.
This sermon followed a commemoration for Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut.
Ayatollah Khamenei last led Friday prayers in January 2020 after Iran retaliated for the assassination of anti-terror commander Brigadier General Qassem Soleimani by launching missiles at a U.S. army base in Iraq.

Ayatollah Khamenei referred to Nasrallah as “my brother, my dear, and my pride,” calling him “the shining jewel of Lebanon” and “the eloquent voice of the oppressed in the region.”
Despite the sorrow over Nasrallah’s martyrdom, the Leader emphasized that this mourning is motivating, inspiring, and hopeful.
Nasrallah, Khamenei said, was a towering figure of resistance whose influence transcended borders. “Though his body has left this world, his soul, his way, and his voice will remain with us forever.”
In his closing remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that the entire Islamic world has a duty to support Lebanon and the resistance.
He condemned the U.S. and its allies for protecting Israel, accusing them of using the Zionist regime as a tool to control the region’s resources.
