Ghana deports 42 Nigerians over prostitution, fraud-related offences
Ghanaian authorities have deported 42 Nigerian nationals from the Ashanti Region following their conviction by the courts over offences linked to prostitution, fraud, and other criminal activities.
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Frank Amoakohene, confirmed the development in a Facebook post on Thursday, December 18, 2025, as reported by NewsPoint Nigeria.
According to him, the deportation exercise also involved other foreign nationals, including 13 Cameroonians, three Ivorians, three Burkinabe nationals, and seven citizens of Benin Republic, bringing the total number of deportees to 68.

“A total of 42 Nigerians, 13 Cameroonians, three Ivorians, three Burkinabe nationals, and seven Benin nationals have been deported from the Ashanti Region to their respective countries after various court rulings involving Q-Net, prostitution, and other criminal activities,” Amoakohene stated.
He commended the Ghana Immigration Service for what he described as its professionalism and dedication to enforcing immigration laws while respecting due process and human dignity.
Amoakohene added that the continued collaboration between the immigration authorities, the courts, and other security agencies has contributed significantly to public safety, the protection of vulnerable persons, and the maintenance of law and order in the region.
