One die as IPOB attack Abia police station
A gang of armed men of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB), have invaded the Police Rapid Response Squad facility at Owerrinta, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State today, Monday, 4th November.
The attack appeared to be a strategic attempt to liberate fellow gang members previously apprehended by law enforcement.
State Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, confirmed the unfortunate incident and stated that one of the assailants was apprehended during the attack.

Isa said, on that day, there was an attack on our facility at Owerrinta shortly after midnight. The assailants arrived in about three Hilux vehicles and opened fire on our facility,”
“Our personnel repelled the attack. However, the assailants used dynamite to blow off our roof.
“In their attempt to release detainees, they opened fire, resulting in the tragic d3ath of a female suspect.
“Following the incident, we pursued the suspects using technical methods and successfully arrested one individual.
“The police are currently interrogating him to identify other accomplices. We are making progress.”
Further reports showed that the detained who was killed in the process was said to have been arrested in connection with a child trafficking case.
