Wike revokes FCT lands of Buhari, Abbas, Akume, 753 others
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has revoked land allocations from several prominent individuals, including former President Muhammadu Buhari, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, for failure to pay the required Certificate of Occupancy fees.
Additionally, 759 other individuals and organizations in Maitama II, Abuja, were affected by this revocation.
The announcement was made public by the FCT Administration and shared with News Point Nigeria by Lere Olayinka, the Special Adviser to the FCT Minister.
In a separate notice, the minister also issued a warning to revoke lands belonging to the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Kingsley Chinda; former Senate Presidents Iyorchia Ayu and Ameh Ebute; Senate Chief Whip Tahir Monguno; and 610 other individuals if their outstanding fees for Certificate of Occupancy are not paid within two weeks.
This action follows earlier appeals from the minister urging FCT residents, especially those in hybrid areas of the capital, to settle their outstanding fees or face the risk of land revocation.
