The Cross River State Police Command has apprehended Victor Eyop on charges of human trafficking involving young girls sent to Libya.

State Police Commissioner Gyogon Grimah announced the arrest on Monday during a press conference in Calabar, the state capital.

Grimah disclosed that the case was reported on November 9 by one Mr. Chidi Samuel, who accused Eyop and his wife, Mrs. Esther Eyop, of recruiting girls for trafficking.

“They also recruited two others, Ms. Anita Lawrence, 25, and Ms. Mabel Tom, 16, for human trafficking to Libya after they were tested for the Human Immune Virus, HIV, and other Sexually Transmitted Diseases, STIs,” Grimah stated.
