Teacher charged with assaulting pupil remanded in Kirikiri
The Lagos State Police Command has reiterated its zero tolerance for any form of assault following the arrest of a teacher caught assaulting a pupil.
The incident, which went viral on social media, shows Stella Nwadigbo, a 45-year-old teacher, striking and slapping a three-year-old child for reportedly struggling to write the number 7.

Nwadigbo was arraigned in Magistrate Court 1 in Ogba on January 9, 2025, where she faced charges of indecent treatment and child assault. She pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Chief Magistrate O. Kushanu granted her bail at N200,000 with two sureties of the same amount.
She has subsequently been remanded in the Kirikiri maximum prison, till February 18, when the case will be heard again.
