A team of medical professionals, during a Medical Outreach organised by the Madakin Gudi Foundation at General Hospital Yusufari, rescued a 13-year-old boy, Hamza Sadiq, who has been in critical condition after being diagnosed with Typhoid Perforation.
The medical outreach commenced at 11:30 am on Saturday, 11th January 2025 where patients received medical diagnosis from various communities of Yusufari Local Government Area.
The team met the boy at the hospital while being supported by a good Samaritan to get treatment after his parents abandoned him.
The lead doctor of the team, M.K Abdullahi, after diagnosing the boy recommended a referral to Yobe State Specialist Hospital Gashua, where the boy underwent surgery and is currently on treatment.
Narrating the boy’s medical condition, Malam Nuhu Musa, who voluntarily brought the child to the hospital, said Hamza fell ill a month ago.
He explained that the parents brought the child to Tsangayar Ilu and have not returned to see him or cared to know about his health condition.
Malam Nuhu further said he decided to help the boy because of his familiarity with the parents.
Nuhu used the opportunity to appreciate the Madakin Gudi Foundation for the kind gesture, calling on other well-to-do individuals to emulate such acts of kindness to rescue people of the state from critical health ailments which they cannot afford to treat.
Commenting on the rescue, the coordinator of Madakin Gudi Foundation’s Medical Outreach, Malam Hassan Kaku, commended the State APC Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Gadaka, for launching the initiative which gave timely help to young Hamza Sadiq.
Hassan Kaku called on parents to take good care of their children, pointing out that children are gifts from Allah and should be loved and protected from any harm.

Earlier on arrival, the team of medical experts, led by Malam Kaku paid homage to the Emir of Yusufari, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammad Ibn Zakariya, and sought his fatherly blessings towards the success of the exercise.
The Emir thanked the Yobe State APC Chairman Alhaji Gadaka for initiating the project.
The Royal father noted that the exercise is of great importance to the people, especially the vulnerable ones, pointing out that many people are sick and cannot afford medical bills.
He said with this kind of initiative, a healthy and stronger society will be achieved.
On their part, some beneficiaries who spoke shortly after receiving medical treatment appreciated the gesture and called on philanthropic individuals in the society to emulate it.
The team of health experts is expected to proceed to Bukarti Community in Yunusari Local Government Area for the same mission.
