Osimhen bags champions league player of the week nomination after stunning hat-trick

Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen has been shortlisted for the UEFA Champions League Player of the Week award following his sensational performance for Galatasaray on Wednesday night.
Osimhen fired a second-half hat-trick to power the Turkish champions to a commanding 3–0 victory over Ajax at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam.
The 26-year-old striker’s blistering form has seen him score six goals in just three Champions League appearances this season, cementing his place as Nigeria’s all-time leading scorer in UEFA competitions with a total of 25 goals.

Osimhen faces stiff competition for the weekly honour from Arsenal midfielder Mikel Merino, Manchester City’s Phil Foden, and Club Brugge winger Carlos Forbs.
UEFA is expected to announce the winner after fan votes are concluded on its official website.
