Three Nigerians arrested for alleged cyber fraud

Kenyan authorities have arrested three Nigerian nationals in Mwaliko Estate, Mwea Town, over allegations of involvement in cyber fraud.
The suspects, identified as Peter Chukwujekwu, Alazor Chukulute Sunday, and Nnalue Chiagozie Samwe, were arrested on Wednesday by operatives of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
Their arrest followed complaints from residents who reported unusual late night activities in the apartment they occupied.

The DCI confirmed the development, describing the operation as a coordinated multi-agency raid targeting a suspected cybercrime network in the area. The agency also noted that the three men, who claimed to be running an online business, were living in Kenya without valid work permits.
This incident adds to a growing list of Nigerians apprehended abroad over cyber-related offences. In June 2023, Kenyan police arrested 19 Nigerians in Nairobi for running an electronic fraud scheme that targeted locals through social media.
According to the DCI, the group lured victims by initiating chats on platforms like Facebook and later offering fake goods deliveries supposedly shipped via Dalsey, Hillblom and Lynn (DHL), an international courier and logistics company.
