Dangote urges Nigerians to stop importing luxury cars, focus on building industries

Story by Okafor Vivian

President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has advised wealthy Nigerians to reduce the purchase of luxury foreign cars such as Rolls-Royce and instead invest their resources in building industries that can create jobs and grow the Nigerian economy.

Dangote made the call while speaking at a business and economic forum, where he stressed that excessive spending on imported luxury goods does little to support local production or industrial development. He said Nigeria’s long-term prosperity depends on strong domestic manufacturing and value addition.
