ADC hopeful as APC, PDP clash over Osun, Ekiti governorship polls

Story by Okafor VivianĀ

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expressed optimism about its chances in the forthcoming governorship elections in Osun and Ekiti states, amid growing tensions and political exchanges between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Party leaders said the escalating rivalry between the two major parties has created an opening for alternative voices, positioning the ADC as a credible option for voters seeking a break from the traditional political divide.

According to the ADC, residents of both states are increasingly dissatisfied with partisan politics and are more receptive to issue-based campaigns focused on governance, development, and accountability.

Meanwhile, the APC and PDP have traded accusations over alleged plans to manipulate the polls, heightening political tension ahead of the elections. Both parties have dismissed the claims against them, insisting they are committed to peaceful and credible electoral processes.

As preparations continue, observers say the unfolding rivalry between the dominant parties could reshape voter dynamics, potentially benefiting smaller parties like the ADC if they are able to mobilise effectively and present compelling alternatives.
