Bandits torch police station, attack Church in Niger State

Suspected bandits have set a police station ablaze and attacked a church in Niger State, sparking fear and tension among residents of the affected community.

The coordinated attack reportedly occurred in the early hours of the day, when armed assailants stormed the area, overpowering security presence before setting the police facility on fire. Eyewitnesses said the attackers also vandalised parts of a nearby church, forcing worshippers and residents to flee for safety.

Although no official casualty figure has been confirmed, sources said properties were destroyed during the attack, while security operatives have been deployed to restore calm and pursue the perpetrators.

Police authorities are yet to issue a detailed statement on the incident, but local sources said investigations are ongoing as efforts intensify to track down the attackers.
