Iran denies Trump claim of direct contact as conflicting accounts emerge over alleged call

Conflicting accounts have emerged between the United States and Iran after U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that an Iranian official directly contacted him during the ongoing crisis and requested a halt to U.S. military strikes, a claim Tehran has strongly denied.

Speaking in an interview with Fox News, President Trump said he had a direct conversation with an Iranian official amid escalating tensions between the two countries. He further claimed that Iran asked him to stop the bombing campaign, adding that he would consider “stopping the bombing soon.”

Iranian state-affiliated sources characterized the remarks as baseless and reaffirmed that there has been no confirmed communication between the two governments at leadership level during the current escalation.
