Ghanaian president Nana Akufo-Addo yesterday visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock presidential villa in Abuja where they both met behind closed-doors.

Addressing state house correspondents later, the Ghanaian leader affirmed that Nigeria was well.
“I’m very happy to have had this opportunity to come and I’m going back to Ghana very fortified to be able to tell the Ghanaians that our big brother Nigeria is well and things are well on hand here,’’ he stated.
He said all Ghanaians were happy about President Buhari’s return from his recent medical vacation in London as well as his well-being.
President Akufo-Addo was accorded the courtesy of the Nigerian guard of honour, before he went into a closed door meeting with President Buhari, at the new banquet hall of the state house.
There has been no word concerning what the meeting is about, but Akufo-Addo said he and Buhari discussed bilateral issues affecting both nations and reviewed Ecowas-related matters.
While he was president-elect, Nana Akufo-Addo spoke about the need for stronger ties between the two countries, which he said was important for the growth of Africa.
“I came from Accra today to visit my senior brother, President Muhammadu Buhari, all of us have been anxious about his well-being and with very good news to hear that he had returned. But, we are Africans, and I have to come and see him for myself how he was and I’m very delighted to see that he came back very vigorous and as always very engaged on the issues of our day,” he said.
