Veteran journalist and publisher of Neptune Prime, Dr Malam Hassan Gimba has bagged another award as the performing journalist of the year for his immense contribution to the journalism profession, engaging and mentoring young journalists to become agents of development in the society.
The award – second bagged within a week was presented by the Intellectual Elite Youth Association of Nigeria (IEYAN) at its 2020 youth and women summit held at the National Centre for Women Development, Abuja.
Dr Hassan Gimba, represented by his son, Abubakar Hassan Gimba, in his remark said that the award is a testament no good work goes unnoticed and promised to keep up the good work not thinking of reward or appreciation.
Speaking also at the event, Honourable Bashar Ummarun Kwabo, Special Adviser, Intergovernmental relations (IGR), Sokoto State, urged for the inclusion of youth and women in governance as they are the backbone and engine room of development.
In his words, “Youth and women are the backbone and engine room of development and they have to be given a lot of priority in politics and in governance”.
Questioned by Neptune Prime reporter on the leadership qualities of the youth, Honourable Bashar affirmed that the youths are capable as they have shown recently and once they come together, they can’t be resisted once they speak with one voice.
