… Faults NCDO for Appreciating Gov el-Rufai
Numana community, in Sanga Local Government Area of kaduna State have poised for a showdown as the community associations have began to trades blames on one another over the selection of a Paramount Ruler.
Already the Numana Patriotic Front, NPF, last week, described as malicious and misleading, the media report dated Friday 16th March 2018, (not us), where Numana Community Development Organisation, NCDO, thanked Governor Nasiru El-rufai of Kaduna State “on the so-called selection of Brigadier IA Yammah Gbanzu”.
A counter press statement signed by the Chairman of the NPF, Jeremiah Musa Giginya, NPF expressed dismay over the wrong impression created by Yammah and NCDO, and the potential danger the move portend to the relative peace currently enjoy in the chiefdom.
In the counter press statement, made available to Journalists, in kaduna, NPF said, “their attention has been drawn to a malicious and misleading press statement by NCDO concerning the alleged “appointment” of Yammah as the successor to the late Etum Numana II, Mallam Gambo Makama, by the Kaduna State Government.
According to statement titled “Re: Numana Community thanks El-rufai for Paramount Ruler Selection”, New Etum Numana yet to emerge, NPF”, the chairman stated that “Contrary to the dummy, Yammah and NCDO sold to the public as is Yammah, masquerading himself as the new Etum Numana.
NPF therefore warned that, the state government “is yet to select anyone out of the 3 contestants who were shortlisted awaiting final selection by the government.
It stated that “After the peaceful and successful selection of the successor of Etum Numana II, by the Numana kingmakers, three out of the six people who vied for the position were successfully selected as prescribed by the Numana traditional council, which include: Brig. Gen. IA Yammah Gbanzu, CSC Adamu
Shamaki (Turakin Sanga) and Mallam Adamu Ciroma.
It added that, the peaceful people of Numana Chiefdom are disappointed with Yammah and NCDO “at the show of desperation and shamelessness in trying to pre – empt the outcome of the governor’s decision.
“It is on this ground that we are calling on the Kaduna state government to carry out a full blown investigation into the matter with a view to unmask the brain behind the false claim. And we are also calling on all Numana people and the general public to dismiss such false claims and wait patiently on the state government to make the final choice,” has said.
It would be recalled that the chief of Numana chiefdom was killed recently during attack by suspected herdsmen.
