Kebbi vigilante group denies recruitment scandal

Kebbi state vigilante commander Muhammad Lawal Musa, has denied his involvements in the just concluded community police training that was held in sokoto recently.

Factional members of vigilante alleged that, Lawal had collected the sum of N 6,500 each from the indigenes of kebbi state with the promise of employments, but failed to secure the job.

However, denying the allegation the commander stated that N1,500 was for enrolments as members of vigilante which will give them an edge over none members when the government decides on community police recruitments, while the five thousands was for the training that was held in sokoto preparatory to the potential training based on the approval of the federal government.

Lawal added that, the petitioners attended the training in sokoto and were presented with certificates of attendance with free accommodation, feeding and transportation, he explained that his group were mere invitees to the programme as it organised by NIGPOL training programme Abuja in collaboration with Galaxy promotions as sole owners of the training.

The petitioners namely Hassan Guraguri, Hassan Muhammed Badariya, Muhammad Aminu and Mustapha Bala Makera signed the petition in which they claimed he (Lawal) acted on the order of the state governor his excellency Senator Atiku Bagudu his “i challenge them to come forward with prove that i have involved the governor and they should deny attending the training and receiving the certificates, they also to provide evidence of employments from the form they filled he said.

He called on members of the public to treat the allegations as a baseless claim to smear his name as he has contributed immersely to security in Kebbi and he is currently Director anti girl-child and human trafficking.
