President of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Student Representative Council (SRC), Comrade Abubakar Ali, has shaded light on the identity of the person purportedly killed by a snake bite in the university premises on Sunday.
Speaking in a phone interview with Neptune Prime, the president revealed that the deceased was one Rhoda Paul, a casual staff who went to gather firewood in a bushy part around the back of a conference hall built by Tetfund close to ICSA/Ramat hostel.

An eyewitness, Usman Yusuf Dole, a 200-level geopraphy student, who spoke with Neptune Prime confirmed that it was Rhoda, a 52 year-old casual worker, popularly known as Mama Pius in the neighborhood, that was the snakebite victim, and not one Khadijah as earlier reported.
In a related development, the school authority via the institution’s official Twitter handle has advised students to desist from going to bushes and other dangerous areas, adding that reptiles may start to come out of hiding during an unusually warm winter period and certainly during the warm summer months to bask in the simmering heat. As such, it said, staying away from quite, dark or bushy places is necessary.
