Leicester vs Crystal Palace game was stopped after 35 minutes so Wesley Fofana could break his fast

Fofana was in the starting XI for the game despite having been on a fast the entire day .

The French defender was thoroughly grateful to the Premier League for how they handled his situation

Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana was extremely grateful, after he was allowed an early shower from a football match so he could break a fast.

Fofana is a staunch Muslim and was allowed a short break in the 35th minute to break his fast during the clash against Crystal Palace.

The defender had gone hours without any food or drink and the crucial Premier League clash was scheduled to take place just before Iftar.

Leicester won the game 2-1 and Fofana took to Twitter to thank the Premier League and Crystal Palace player for being considerate to his beliefs.

He tweeted:

In Monday’s win, however, Fofana showed great character as he played the full 90 minutes.

The game itself was quite entertaining as Leicester City had to come from behind to secure a crucial win which solidifies 3rd place in the Premier League table.
