Nigerian troops neutralise dozens of terrorist in coordinated operations across Adamawa, Borno

Nigerian troops have killed scores of terrorists during coordinated military operations across parts of Adamawa and Borno states, dealing a major blow to insurgent groups operating in the North-East.

The operations were carried out by troops of Operation Hadin Kai, with support from other security agencies and local vigilante groups, following actionable intelligence on the movement and hideouts of terrorists in several communities.

In Borno State, troops engaged the insurgents in fierce gun battles around identified enclaves believed to be linked to ISWAP and Boko Haram factions. Military sources said several terrorists were neutralised, while arms, ammunition, motorcycles, and logistics supplies were recovered during the clearance operations.
Similarly, in Adamawa State, troops ambushed fleeing terrorists attempting to regroup along forested areas and border communities. The encounter resulted in heavy casualties among the insurgents, forcing survivors to abandon weapons and escape into difficult terrain.

Although the military did not immediately disclose the exact number of terrorists killed, officials confirmed that the operations recorded significant successes with zero or minimal casualties on the side of government forces.

Reacting to the development, security sources said the sustained offensives were part of ongoing efforts ordered by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, to dismantle remaining terrorist networks and restore lasting peace to the North-East region.

Residents of affected communities reportedly expressed relief over the renewed military pressure on insurgents, noting a reduction in attacks and improved security presence in recent days.

The Nigerian military has reiterated its commitment to sustaining the momentum, urging residents to continue providing credible intelligence to support ongoing counter-terrorism operations in Adamawa, Borno, and neighbouring states.
