Why jealous Jigawa housewife attempted suicide

A housewife, Maimuna Wadaji in Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa state has been hospitalised after setting herself ablaze in an attempt to stop her husband from remarrying his ex-wife.

The Police Command in Jigawa confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) through the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Lawan Shiisu.
Shiisu said the woman, who is a resident of Runguma village tried to kill herself on the 6th of August.

According to him, Maimuna Wadaji tried to take her own life after she learnt of her husband’s intentions to remarry his ex-wife.

The PPRO said after the police received the information, the woman was immediately rushed to the Federal University Teaching Hospital Dutse, where she is currently receiving medical attention.

“On Friday, at about 10:00hrs, the police received intel that one Maimuna Wadaji of Rungumau village, Dutse LGA, attempted suicide, where she poured petrol on herself and set herself ablaze

“After encountering many pains, she shouted and called for help where she was rushed to FUD Teaching Hospital Dutse for treatment,” the police spokesman said.

According to him, the victim will be charged to court as soon as she gets discharged from the hospital.
