Late Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau left behind 4 wives, 89 children, and a chain of fighters – Hon. Ahmed Satomi

The late leader of the terrorist group, Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau has 89 children from different women, a member of the House of Representatives from Borno State, Honourable Ahmed Satomi said on Sunday.

Satomi who spoke on Sunday during the edition of Journalists Hangout on TVC monitored by Neptune Prime’s correspondent in Kano said Shekau was also building a biological chain of fighters from his own blood so that he would have total loyalty and grip over them.

In a press statement, Satomi said that Shekau had four legitimate wives and several women who had children for him while he was alive. He put the number of his known children at 89, but he also had several children from some of the women that were abducted by his fighters.

Shekau who was killed in May this year was believed to have lost his life amidst a bitter internal crisis within the terrorist group that he commanded in collaboration with our security forces and ISWAP military commanders.

Satomi said the merger between the Islamic State of West Africa, (ISWAP) and Boko Haram was a threat but that the merger would not last for a long time, because at the moment, the movement is weak and lack ammunition and foodstuffs.

He hinted that there have been mergers in the past that did not last long, but now that Professor Zulum, Governor of Borno State has intensified all measures to end the Boko Haram menace, very soon, the people of Borno will have peace again.

On the integration of Boko Haram fighters by the Federal Government, the lawmaker urged caution. He said, “Some of us are skeptical, they may disguise, get intelligence and use it to execute their own programme.”

Mohammed Abubakar bin Mohammad al-Barnawi was a Kanuri terrorist and leader of Boko Haram. Shekau had served as Deputy Leader to the group’s founder, Mohammed Yusuf.

He said Shekarau once had agents planted within the government and our security circle, that was why it was difficult to defeat him for 11 years.
