A group of youth who have received the Covid-19 CBN Household loan in Yobe State have commended Governor Mai Mala Buni, for his efforts in making sure that youths in the state benefited immensely from the Central Bank’s Covid-19 SME’s and Household loan to boost businesses and economic activities in Nigeria.

The youth group who have started receiving credit alerts of 500,000 each as a stimulus package to support households and micro, small and medium enterprises affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, commended Governor Buni for supporting Yobe applicants to access the funds at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The youth beneficiaries have also commended President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN), Mr Godwin Emefiele for the facility and urged “the youths to take advantage of the opportunity and uplift not just their living standard, but to turn around the economy of Nigeria for the better.”

“The credits came at the most appropriate time. It is a known fact that the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted negatively on the lives of many Nigerian youths. Many youths are out of business, some have lost their jobs, and the hopes of thousands of our youth expecting support from family and friends have been dashed as a result of the pandemic. So there is no better time than now.

“President Buhari has rekindled our hope in his administration and Nigeria. We are proud that President Muhammadu Buhari has once again confirmed that he is for the youth, women, and vulnerable groups in society.

“We also wish to commend our amiable Governor Mai Mala Buni who is always working and making sure that federal government projects and programmes are accessible by our people in Yobe”.

“We also commend our dogged youth ambassador, Bar Bashir Bukar Bale for his efforts in coordinating the enlistment and follow-ups for the facility. We have always known him for his efforts in such kinds of projects and programmes.

Meanwhile, Bar Bashir Bukar Bale said over 2000 have benefited so far out of the 10,000 and assured that all the successful households applicants enlisted in the Governor Mai Mala’s Special list that do not receive a credit alert to exercise patient adding the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is working in batches to credit the applicants.

He said, the CBN is currently working to address the concerns of those who had fulfilled all requirements for the loan but were yet to have their accounts credited, particularly as other persons had begun to receive credit alerts.

He said Governor Buni has called for judicious use of the facility to improve their businesses and the economy, as funds disbursed were loans and should not be taken as grants.
