Shehu Sani, a former Senator from Kaduna State has expressed his displeasure on the worsening state of security following the attack on the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), in Afaka early hours of Tuesday.
News broke that unspecified number of armed bandits at about 1:00 am stormed the NDA barracks, killed two officers (a Major and a Squadron Leader) while taking away another Major.
Reacting to this, Senator Sani on his Twitter page said that despite two previous attacks (the Airport staff quarters, the Federal College of Forestry mechanisation) in Afaka security situation in the area has not improved adding that security agencies and the government are yet to come to terms with the situation.

He wrote; “The Airport staff quarters that was once attacked, the Federal College of Forestry mechanisation that was once attacked & now the Nigerian Defense Academy that is now attacked are all in the same ward, Afaka in Kaduna. No lesson learned and nowhere is safe; Disappointing.
“The Bandits who kidnap and kill in the North and extorted Billions in ransom remains poor, wretched and appear famished whenever arrested. Until the Government gets the hidden Lords who ultimately collects the money and supply them with weapons,we just wasting our time.
“The attack on the NDA Kaduna is not a rumour,it’s a reality that happened last night. My condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.”
However, security has been beefed up within and around the barracks to stop the bandits from escaping with the officers, according to reports.
