Mohammed Gadaka emerges Yobe State APC Chairman

Mohammed Gadaka has emerged the new chairman of the All Progressives Party in Yobe state.

Neptune Prime reports that Gadaka was elected through consensus by the party stakeholders on Saturday in Damaturu.

Speaking on the conduct of the election, Senator Osita Izunaso, the state Congress Committee Chairman, said for peace and harmony to reign, the party adopted the use of consensus according to the provision of the party’s constitution.

Izunaso said over 1000 delegates comprising of 890 selected delegates, 178 ward councillors, all 17 local government party chairmen, and all the 17 local government executive chairmen participated in the congress.

Others, according to him, were all former and present members of the national assembly and all members of the state house of assembly.

The delegates, therefore, unanimously elected and affirmed Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka as the State Chairman while Alhaji Baba Kankare emerged Deputy Chairman; Abubakar S. Bakabe as State Secretary; Alhaji Modu Kapcha as Assistant Secretary; Mustapha Geidam as State Zonal Vice Chairman zone A; Alhaji Usman Aljali as State Zonal Vice Chairman zone B and Mala Ladan as State Zonal Vice Chairman zone C.

Others are: Alhaji Ali Mohammed, Legal Adviser; Alhaji Idi Jugujugu, Assistant Legal Adviser; Alhaji Saidu Baba, Treasurer; Alhaji Audu Machina, Assistant Treasurer; Modu Kolo, Financial Secretary; Idi Ali Zagam, Assistant Financial Secretary; Haruna Alhaji, State Organising Secretary; Umar Kanamma, Assistant Organising Secretary; Alhaji Bakura Jibrin, Publicity Secretary and Alhaji Ibrahim Baushe, Assistant Publicity Secretary.

In his vote of thanks, the newly elected chairman assured to offer credible leadership while also informing Governor Mai Mala Buni that after the swearing-in ceremony, the new excos would like to go round the 17 local government areas of the state to meet the electorates, see projects executed and outline what to be done again.

In his remarks, Gov. Mai Mala Buni congratulated the new excos and commended the peaceful conduct of the congress in the state adding that the state would serve as an example for others.

Buni also called on the excos and other party members in the state to remain united.

Also speaking, the President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, congratulated all the elected officials urging them to discharge their duties in the best interest of the party.

Lawan also donated N10 million to the party to run its affairs.
