Jigawa State gov’t looking towards arresting brain drain doctors

Despite having fifty-six physiotherapy doctors in various tertiary and secondary health facilities across the state to render professional services to the people, the Jigawa State government is looking inwards towards arresting brain drain doctors.

Governor Muhammad Badaru stated this at the opening of the 61st scientific conference of Nigeria society of Physiotherapy held in Dutse.

Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar said the government has approved and sponsored a number of physiotherapy doctors to peruse their post-graduate degrees considering their role towards improving the health care service delivery of the people.

Parts of the sponsorship was our efforts in sending 60 of our medical students to China and Sudan for their professional health study, stressing upon the completion of their studies they will fill the gap in meeting our manpower development in areas of health technology.

Similarly, I am pleased to inform you that we have equipped most of our health facilities with qualified medical personnel, medication, in ensuring prompt and enabling health commitment in rendering effective health care services to the people.

He explained that the state government is currently constructing new general hospitals in addition to one primary health care at each political word as part of an effort to meet the health care services of people.

He also commended the Nigeria society of physiotherapy for choosing Jigawa State to hold its annual general meeting and wish them fruitful deliberations.

Earlier the president of Nigeria society of physiotherapy doctors, Nnenna Nina Eligho expressed appreciation to the Jigawa State government for its commitment and concern to their services.

The conference which gathered physiotherapy doctors across the federation was attended by the state Deputy Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, speaker of the House of Assembly and members of the state executive council.
