We will scrap Hisbah board in Kano if PDP forms the next gov’t – Kwankwaso
Story from Saleh INUWA, Kano
Former Kano State Governor and former Presidential Aspirant, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has vowed that if the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) wins the next governorship election in Kano, they will scrap the state’s Hisbah Board or overhaul it completely.
He said he is not surprised that the former Commander General, Sheik Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa resigned from the board, because no serious person will tolerate the indiscipline and moral corruption happening in the board.

He sited the wedding of Ganduje’s daughter two years ago as an example, saying the bride was virtually indecently dressed in a state which is supposed to be implementing Sharia and has a Hisbah board. He said this has remained an embarrassment to the north and Kano people.
Similarly, Kwankwaso who is angling to be President of Nigeria in 2023 also noted that, recently an Emir that gave out his daughter in marriage also allowed the display of immoral dressing and bad vices to take place during the ceremony, even though traditional rulers are supposed to be custodians of Islam.
Kwankwaso was the only Governor that did not allow the operation of the office of first lady, he said his wife is his personal property and not meant to be seen by the public.
