The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has donated items to Zangan/Kirim communities in Takad Chiefdom, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The community suffered series of attacks recently which left scores dead and properties destroyed Presenting the items at the Central Primary School, Fadan Attakar, the Northwest Coordinator of NEMA, Ishaya Isa Chonoko, noted that the donation was meant to cushion the hardship experienced by the people.
Chonoko urged the people to continue to embrace dialogue whenever there are disputes, and appealed to them to live in peace with their neighbors. In a remark, the member representing Kaura Constituency, who is also the Minority Whip in the House of Representatives, Gideon Gwani, commended the Takad people for picking up their lives after the attacks on their communities.
Gwani also thanked NEMA for the gesture, adding that it would help in resettling some of those displaced after the attacks. Also in a remark, the Agwam Takad, Mr. Tobias Nkom Wada, thanked NEMA for the gesture and assured them that the items would be distributed equally. Items donated included bags of cement, assorted grains, bags of rice, bags of beans, roofing sheets, nylon mats, blankets and mattresses.
