Nigerian gov’t, ADB execute Agric projects worth N7 billion in Jigawa

Federal Government of Nigeria, in collaboration with African development bank (ADB), has executed agricultural projects worth N17.7 billion in five local government areas of Jigawa state.

Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia representing Jigawa (North East), made this known while inspecting some projects sites in Auyo and Kafin Hausa local government council’s in his constituencies.

He said the projects are under agricultural transformation agenda support program of the federal government, commending Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar for the support and cooperation towards the successful conduct of the program.

In his speech, the zonal program coordinator ATASP Kano/Jigawa Auwal Ado Shehu, thanked Governor Badaru Abubakar for releasing counterpart funding and the Senator for ensuring the projects.

He said the projects reached 50 percent completion of 41.5 feeder road from Hadejia Jamaare barraged to Ansaye to Galauchi to Miga, and from Auyo to Zabarau to Gudito to Maskangayu for transporting food items.

He commended senator Ibrahim Hassan for his effort towards increasing the tenure of the program to two years.

In his vote of thanks, the council chairman of Auyo local government Alhaji Muhammad Ahmed Sani commended both federal and state governments, as well as the senator for sourcing the projects for the benefit of farmers in the area.
