Investigate whoever proposes to you for marriage – Kano actress to women

Famous Kano actress, director and producer, Rukayya Dawaiyya, whose real name is Rukayya Umar Santa, has called on women, especially young ladies to always investigate whoever proposes to them for marriage so that they will not encounter what happened to her.
Rukayya who is also a strong APC member in Kano and has indicated her interest to go to Katsina her home state and contest for House of Representative seat, some years back, got married in a colourful ceremony in Kano to Adamawa businessman, Adamu Teku who is a land speculator in Abuja, and was later sent packing through a text message.

She was quoted as saying to her close associates that when she got married to Adamu Teku and moved to his house in Abuja, she discovered that Adamu hid lots of things from her. Through investigation, she alleged his own daughter told Dawaiyya that she was the 24th wife that he married. Apart from his first wife that was never divorced, Adamu married and divorced 22 other women before Dawaiyya.
According to her, she did all she could including taking care of all her needs but Adamu completely changed towards her as a pretext to get an excuse to divorce her. One day, she came to Kano with his permission to see her mother who is visiting Kano from Saudi Arabia but the following day, she got a text message from her husband, telling her that he has divorced her and she is free to marry any man that proposes to her.
She packed her things and returned to Kano and continued with her business of film production, philanthropic activities, politics and other projects to make money and continue with her life. Because of this, she issued a statement in Kano a few days ago through social media and said she has overcome her marriage issues but is now advising women, in general, to always be careful before saying yes to whoever proposed to them or else, they will end up with a broken heart.
