Story from Najibullahi ADAMU, Gombe

Gombe state government has earmarked 3, 711 plots allocations in the state capital for verification and certification in its geographic information system.

Special adviser to Governor Inuwa Yahaya on project implementation, monitoring and evaluation Professor Namala Keftin disclosed this Thursday while addressing journalists on the ongoing verification and re-certification exercise of land titles within the designated ‘Special Development Zones’.

He explained that the special development zone was set aside by the government for the execution of legacy projects.

Apart from the execution of legacy projects, the special adviser noted that the exercise was also meant to sort out land problems in Gombe metropolis where landowners kept violating laid down building regulations.

According to him, a total of 741 lands have been verified so far with billing and payments being made in the revenue base of the government through the Gombe State Geographic Information System (GOGIS).

Commenting further on the sites tagged as ‘Special Development Zones’, Namala stated that one of the areas is the Bauchi motor park which is earmarked to be converted into a befitting state government secretariat.

He told landowners not to be panic saying their legitimate plots would not be touched but that they only need to validate them.
